Tishan is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and has enormous exposure in local and overseas consultancy assignments as well as Audits in the United States and Africa. He currently serves as a Senior Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. Prior to joining Moore Aiyar, he worked for BDO Partners for 10 years as a partner Audit & assurance, Technical and Training and Human Resources. His working experience expands to PricewaterhouseCoopers [PWC] in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Botswana offices for over 4 years. Tishan got exposure in the “Financial Services” sector audit engagement while working in USA. This includes SOX 404 reviews as well. He has gained experience in multiethnic and multicultural environments. He is specialized in general financial accounting, audit and in the provisioning of services related to management information systems/ERP, information security to large conglomerates. Tishan is a Certified Information Systems Auditor [USA] and holding a MBA (Finance) from the University of Colombo and a Gold medal 1st on the same. Tishan has earned his LLB (Hons.) degree from the Buckinghamshire New University. Tishan headed the Human resource, technical and training functions while working at BDO. He served as the Chairman of the National Conference Committee and the Annual Report Awards Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He is a visiting lecturer of University of Sri Jayewardenepura in the department of accounting on Advanced Risk Based Auditing where he is involved in the design of the course and is responsible for course delivery and evaluation. Further to the above he is a visiting lecturer at the University of Kelaniya, Rajarata University and University of Colombo (Faculty of Graduate Studies) in the field of auditing, governance, advisory and international financial reporting standards (implementation and reporting). He has undergone international training in USA, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Malaysia etc., in areas such as Sarbanes Oxley section 404 integrated audits, Audit Software, IFRSs etc. Further, Tishan gained a much wider knowledge on application of IFRS by taking part of at the “Asia Pacific and Middle East Regions Workshop on IFRS” held in India in February 2010. He also participated for the workshop on IFRSs for teachers organized by the business school of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the IFRS foundation. Tishan is carrying fourteen years of post-qualifying experience and he is a certified train-the-trainer of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and also a committee member of the International Financial Reporting, Implementation and Interpretation Committee of Sri Lanka. He is currently working as the consultant to the National Audit Office in carrying out the audit of Bank of Ceylon.
